About the Event

Soulversations presented a live music activation for Black Music Month in Washington DC. The event featured live performances representing the Black American Musical diaspora — Soul, Roots, Jazz, R&B, Go-Go, Hip-Hop, and Gospel — paying tribute to the roots of Black music while embracing its contemporary expressions. We explored the history, influence, and social impact of Black music nationally and in Washington DC, providing attendees with a deeper understanding of the art form and its role in shaping cultural identities and movements. In partnership with The SoulLife Foundation, we created opportunities for aspiring musicians and entertainment operators through mentorship and performance experiences, nurturing the next cohort of Black creatives and culturalists.
